The Bridge International: Supporting the poor in Zimbabwe
The Bridge International is a charity which we support in Zimbabwe. It provides financial, physical, emotional and spiritual support to orphans, street children, carers of children, prisoners and the disadvantaged, of whom there are many. This provision is often life- saving and life-transforming. Even though there is a new president in the country, with good intentions, the poor have yet to see major changes to their daily lives.
Recent projects have included providing basic food to an orphanage, blankets and warm bedding for winter, school fees, rent for a homeless family and food parcels to hungry individuals.
Current Project
We are raising £5000 to complete the house of a pastor and community leader. This pastor has very limited means, as he ministers to rural people who are very poor. He has very little outside support. He and his family have been living in one room since 2013, as he has not had enough money to complete his house. We aim to raise enough for the roof, windows and doors, and basic plumbing.
